St Andrew beat St Hugh’s
St Andrew’s High blanked St Hugh’s 5-0 at the Mona Hockey turf yesterday to join Alpha Academy top of the Girls’ Zone ‘A’ table of the ISSA/Jamaica Hockey Federation Under-16 competition.
Both schools are on six points, three ahead of third place Immaculate, who edged Mona High 1-0 Alpha Academy and Mona High are without a point.
Tanneisa Jackson, Jodien Russel, Chantal Rhone, Micaela Suckal and Kimberly Shaw scored for St Andrew’s.
In the boys’ competition, Papine High and Mona High registered victories to remain top of Zone ‘B’.
Papine High defeated Jamaica College 3-0, while Mona High beat Kingston College 1-0.
The competition continues this afternoon with four games.
In the boys’ section, Tivoli Gardens and Wolmer’s face off in a Zone ‘B’ game, starting at 1 p.m., while Excelsior will play Jamaica College at 3 p.m.
In the girls’ competition, Queen’s will play Wolmer’s in a Zone ‘B’ game at 2 p.m., while Excelsior will tackle Papine at 4 p.m.
