Shiann Salmon advances, Andrenette Knight out of 400m hurdles finals

Shiann Salmon will be Jamaica’s only competitor in the women’s 400-metre hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships as she successfully navigated the semifinal round.

Salmon advanced from heat three as an automatic qualifier when she finished second in a season's best 54.03 seconds.

Andrenette Knight, Jamaica's other competitor, failed to advance as her time of 54.35s saw her finishing fifth in heat one.

The final is set for Friday at 7:27 a.m. Jamaica time.
