- Rockfort Community Football League
The 2013 staging of the Rockfort Community Football League marks the 11th year of this hotly contested competition, which features teams from Warieka Hills, Rockfort, Norman Gardens, Pleasant Heights, Jarrett Lane, Manley Meadows and many more.
The aim of the competition is to engage the unattached youth from within and outside the communities, as well as those who are unoccupied during the summer break. This year, 17 teams will participate, including defending champions Warieka.
This event is a community-led and supported event which helps to reduce crime and violence in the area, and which has been credited for identifying local talent. It will feature the dress parade of teams while representatives of sponsors, including RUBiS Energy Jamaica (Shell), LIME, PETCOM Cookie Cooking Gas and Member of Parliament, Phillip Paulwell, will be on hand to officially launch the event.
