The National Water Commission (NWC) says it has implemented a regulated water supply schedule for some customers served by the Constant Spring Water Treatment Facility in St Andrew as it works to address ongoing supply disruptions caused by a technical issue at the plant.

The regulated schedule took effect Sunday night and will remain in place until further notice.

According to the NWC, the technical issue has reduced inflows to the facility, affecting its ability to maintain normal water distribution.

Under the temporary arrangement, water will be supplied between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. to customers in Central Avenue, Honey Hill, Beverlydale, the upper sections of Constant Spring Road, Roehampton, Highland Drive, upper Waterloo, Donmair, Mannings Hill Road, Patrick City, West Avenue, Queensborough, Queensbury, Molynes Road, Molynes Gardens, Perkins, White Hall Avenue, Duhaney Park, Pembroke Hall, Sullivan Avenue, Swansea Avenue, Oaklands, sections of Hughenden, Valentine Gardens, and surrounding communities.

Customers on Eastwood Park Road to Washington Boulevard, Constant Spring Road, Cassia Park, Waltham Park Road, Chisholm Avenue, Molynes Road, Half-Way Tree Road, Hagley Park Road, Maxfield Avenue, Moreton Park, Richmond Park, Cockburn Gardens, Kencot, Whitfield Town, sections of Cross Roads, Maxfield Park and Lyndhurst Road will receive water between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The NWC cautioned that because of the reduced inflows, supply distribution will be limited and not all areas listed on the schedule will receive water simultaneously.

It also warned that customers may experience low water pressure or intermittent supply, depending on their elevation and location, while the system recharges.

The utility company said it will provide an updated timeline for the restoration of normal service once the extent of the repairs has been determined.
