Double murder on Fairfield Avenue in St Andrew

Two men were shot and killed during a brazen gun attack along Fairfield Avenue in St Andrew this afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Tyrese McKenzie, otherwise called 'City Puss'. and Josh Harvey, otherwise called 'Josh'.
Reports are that about 4:25 p.m., McKenzie and Harvey were standing along the roadway near a motor car that was parked a few metres away from a garage.
It is alleged that a silver Toyota Probox drove along the roadway, turned around, and later stopped in the area.
A man reportedly exited the vehicle and opened gunfire on the two men.
McKenzie and Harvey reportedly attempted to flee.
McKenzie was shot in the middle of the roadway, while Harvey ran into a garage, where he was chased and shot.
The gunman then escaped in the awaiting Toyota Probox.
The police were alerted and, upon arrival, found both men suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. They were later pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
The St Andrew South police division currently leads all 19 police divisions with five murders recorded as at the end of January.
