BADMINTON: Players go for more success in Mexico
Jamaica’s young badminton players will today turn their focus to individual competition after finishing fifth in Team Play at the 2013 Pan American Junior Badminton Championships in Mexico.
On their way to fifth place Jamaica won both their matches yesterday.
In the morning session the Jamaicans easily beat Chile 3-0 and returned in the afternoon session for a 3-1 win over Peru to improve on their sixth place finish last year.
Jamaica crashed out of medal contention after losing their quarterfinal match against hosts Mexico on Monday.
Jamaica had qualified for the quarterfinals after topping Group ‘C’ of the preliminary round with two victories.
