As the world observes the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, the Acting CARICOM Secretary General, Dr Lolita Applewaite is calling for continued vigilance and improved efforts to provide equal access to training and decent work for females.
According to Dr. Applewaite gender stereotypes still exist in Caribbean societies.
Meanwhile, Executive Coordinator of the Caribbean Policy Development Centre Cecilia Babb is concerned about the issue of women in the labour market.
While noting that some progress has been made, she says the matter of equal pay remains a challenge.
