Topline jockey Dane Nelson, who starts a two-day suspension tomorrow, was slapped with a further one-day ban by the stewards on Tuesday for careless riding in the fourth race at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, February 23.

Nelson, who rode the free-running DIAMOND VALLEY, was penalised for causing interference to GEYSER SPRING approaching the 800-metre point. His suspension will take effect on Saturday, March 26, immediately at the end of his current suspension.

Also picking up a day was former champion apprentice Kenyatta Davis, this for careless riding aboard HARDWAR PRINCE in the sixth race last Saturday, his mount causing interference to SIMPLY DEVINE approaching the 1400-metre point. His suspension also embraces March 26.

Severely cautioned

At the same hearing, apprentice Aaron Chatrie, who rode ROYAL IMPACT in the eighth race on Wednesday, February 23, was severely cautioned for the intimidation and interference caused to MR. BUTCHER in the last 500 metres.

Champion jockey Omar Walker was also severely cautioned by the stewards for his ride aboard the winning horse, LIFE GOES ON, in the ninth race on Saturday, March 5, his mount causing interference to SECRET WEAPON in the vicinity of the furlong pole.

Jockey Paul Francis was also cautioned for his rides aboard CONCORDE'S DANCE and THE BEST MAN on March 9 and 12, respectively. The free-running CONCONDE'S DANCE caused interference to the runner-up RAISE A RUCKUS and HIGH SOCIETY at the start of the Ash Wednesday Trophy won by MISMYRTLEBOYRICHIE, while THE BEST MAN interfered with both SIR JAADU BABA and NATURALLY ROYAL at the start of the second race.

In-form apprentice Richard Mairs, who rode SMILE OUT in the ninth race on Wednesday, March 9, was severely cautioned for the interference caused to the favourite and runner-up DI-LAW at the start.
