Super Bowl tailgate party

Just whose idea was it to park three pickup trucks in the lobby of the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa on Sunday?
But wait, there was more! A bar courtesy of Red Stripe BOLD, then add Code Red, Sunset's own selector Crazy Chris, the Red Stripe girls and scores of North American football lovers. The result? One big Super Bowl tailgate party! And with crowd favourite Green Bay Packers beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 for their fourth title, it couldn't have been better.
Food and beer flowed freely and Code Red filled the breaks in the game with party music and giveaways and the vibes were just right. Close to the end of the second quarter, there were nervous moments as the Steelers closed in on the Packers. But the Packers maintained their lead, giving their supporters something to celebrate, and celebrate they did! It was the third straight year that Sunset Jamaica Grande was hosting a Super Bowl party, turning a section of the hotel's huge lobby into a party-only area, with over half a dozen big screens on which to watch the game.
"It's part of our mantra, all about getting your fun on and giving the guests some fun experiences," explained Charmaine Deane, director of corporate communications for Sunset Resorts. "And it's not limited to Jamaica Grande, we have the same tailgate party at Sunset Beach MoBay; it's fun cyaa done!"
Deane also underscored the importance of the hotel's partnership with Red Stripe.
"Andre Boswell, brand manager for Red Stripe, has been very instrumental in assisting us. They're doing quite a few promotions in partnership with Sunset and we're really appreciative of that and his main man here in this area, Jason Peart, is unrelenting in his commitment to work with us to make things happen. So we're really very proud of the partnership and we want to make sure it continues," said Deane.
After the party in the lobby, the celebrations continued inside the hotel's nightclub, Jamaica Mi Crazy!
