Fight Nights heads to Breezy Castle
WRAY & Nephew Fight Nights returns to the Corporate Area on Saturday.
The boxing exhibition, which continues into 2024, will close the calendar year with a seaside showdown in the country’s city capital, downtown Kingston.
Returning to the ring as undefeated since the start of the boxing competition is professional boxer Jermaine ‘Breezy’ Richards for his third match of the season. The Breezy Castle fights will also see a fresh bout of female challengers compete for supremacy.
Patrons will also watch Ian Darby’s impact for the second time since his exciting bout against Fabian ‘Truck’ Tucker on October 7, 2023.
For Jamaica Boxing Board President, Stephen Jones, the series has found its footing with Jamaicans and promises to deliver high-quality boxing competition for local boxers.
“The popularity of the Fight Night series has advanced way more rapidly than we expected, which is actually a great position to be in, as more eyes are on the sport and Jamaica as a boxing destination. The next fight card will boast at least six amateur bouts and two professional. Along with the popularity of our boxers, their competition continues to rise as well and two of our fan favourites, Jermaine ‘Breezy’ Richards and Ian ‘The Impact’ Darby, will face off against Colombian opponents to cap off what is sure to be our most exciting night to date.”
Pavel Smith, marketing manager Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, is excited patrons can witness the advancement of local boxing careers.
“In just three stagings, we’ve seen the rekindling of love and support for local boxing. Boxing fans are fired up and boxers are eager to showcase their talent and elevate their careers. We are pleased that more persons are coming to the events, and we invite more persons who love the sport to come to Breezy Castle on December 16 for the biggest show of the Wray & Nephew boxing series.”
The Wray & Nephew Fight Night series is sponsored by Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, Television Jamaica, Pepsi Jamaica, Ultra Medical Services, Locker Room Sports, S&G Road Surfacing Materials Limited, and Creative Sports.
