Scorpions secure win over CCC in Super50
The Jamaica Scorpions pulled off a comprehensive 97 run win over the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) to secure their first win in three attempts at the Super 50 Cup tournament.
The Scorpions were once again exceptional with the bat, as opener Assad Fudadin fell eight runs short of what would have been his second straight century of the tournament, to help the Jamaicans post their second highest Super 50 Cup total of 330 for 8 in 50 overs.
Middle order batsman Andre McCarthy also fell short of a century, as he made 91, while captain Rovman Powell got 57 and wicket-keeper Aldane Thomas 48.
Pacer Akeem Jordan bagged 3 for 72 for the CCC, who could not capitalise on a good start, as they could only manage 233 for 9 in 45.2 overs.
Openers Romaine Morrison made 96 and Paul Palmer 30. Pacer Oshane Thomas took 3 for 25, while spinner Dennis Bulli bagged 3 for 44 for the Scorpions.
