Amore Ital Living is not merely a wellness brand. It is the product of survival, love and a hard-earned reckoning with the body. Founded by Rajah Amore and Kimberley Webber, it emerged from a life-altering health crisis that reshaped both their approach to well-being and their sense of purpose.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amore suffered a heart attack that forced a confrontation with mortality and long-standing habits. “During the pandemic I suffered a heart attack, and it completely changed how I viewed health and life. I had to rebuild my wellness using real tools – food, herbs, and a more supportive environment,” he said.

The rebuilding was slow and exacting. At his lowest point, Amore struggled to walk and lost the ability to sing, a lifelong passion. Recovery demanded both discipline and curiosity: months of learning, reading and experimentation, alongside a reliance on traditional Caribbean bush remedies.

“I drank practically every bush you could think of. I was desperate to feel like myself again.”

Throughout the ordeal, Webber provided steady care and encouragement. “She cared for me, kept me encouraged, and helped me stay positive and hopeful when I needed it most,” Amore recalled.

After nearly 18 months of deliberate self-care, his health returned – and with it a new sense of direction.

“I realised people do not have to live stuck in weight struggles, chronic symptoms, or feeling disconnected from their bodies. When we learn to love ourselves a little more, we start to make choices that support healing,” Amore said.

That insight became the foundation of Amore Ital Living. Its name reflects its ethos. “Amore means ‘love’,” he explained, “and Ital Living reflects the clean, intentional way of eating and living we promote. At its core, we help people love themselves, through ital food and an ital lifestyle.”

Asked to define the experience in three words, Amore was succinct: rooted, restorative, empowering.

He identified a persistent gap in Jamaica’s wellness landscape. Many people want to detox, lose weight or improve gut health, yet lack practical guidance and sustained support.

“Many people want to detox, lose weight, improve gut health, and feel lighter, but they do not have guidance, community, or a plan that fits real life in Jamaica. Amore Ital Living fills that gap.”

CONSCIOUS ALIGNMENT

The brand combines education, accountability and straightforward food practices with emotional support, encouraging clients to move beyond quick fixes towards durable change. But food is only one part of the proposition. Amore frames ital living as conscious alignment: eating with intention, moving with respect for the body, resting without guilt, and adopting habits that support the nervous system.

“Healing is easier when you are not doing it alone. We teach people how to live in alignment with their health goals, their values, and the version of themselves they are becoming.”

Success, for Amore, is measured less by weight lost than by confidence gained.

“I want people to leave feeling seen, supported, and hopeful, with the sense that ‘I can do this’. I want them to feel empowered, knowing they are now equipped to help themselves when it comes to their health.”

While ital meals are central, he believes the detox and weight-loss programmes best capture the brand’s intent.

“They represent the full experience, not just what you eat, but how you rebuild your relationship with food, your body, and your habits.”

Each client is paired with a health coach, who serves as an accountability partner.

“That guidance, check-ins, and encouragement help people stay consistent and actually follow through long enough to see real results,” Amore said.

Integrity and quality underpin the operation. Amore is a certified detox specialist; Webber holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry and is nearing completion of her naturopathy certification. Herbs are sourced carefully and blended in-house, including three signature formulas aligned to different phases of detox. “Every batch is handled with consistency and care, so clients can trust what they are using.”

Cultural respect is equally central. Ital living, Amore emphasised, is rooted in Caribbean tradition.

“This is not about restriction or perfection. It is about returning to whole foods, local produce, herbs, and simple preparation methods that our culture has always valued.”

Growth has brought familiar tensions.

“The most challenging part has been scaling while protecting the integrity of the brand,” Amore admitted. “When something is rooted in care, education, and personal transformation you cannot rush it.”

The rewards, however, have gone beyond physical outcomes.

“When people started saying they felt emotionally lighter, more in control, and began bringing friends and family, I knew we were building something meaningful.”

Looking ahead, the aim is measured expansion: deeper engagement, wider access and stronger long-term support, without sacrificing the brand’s personal, community-driven character. In five years, Amore envisions Amore Ital Living as a leading Caribbean wellness platform, known for credibility, education and tangible outcomes.

As for its legacy, his ambition is modest in language but expansive in scope.

“I want Amore Ital Living to be remembered for helping people come home to themselves, proving that healing can be simple, supported, and sustainable.”
