The Jamaica Defence Force Co-operative Credit Union (JDF CCU) turned the principle of ‘People Helping People’ into action this year, actively strengthening the ‘Fi Mi Credit Union, Fi Mi Family’ bond through targeted community engagement.

The credit union took direct steps to empower its military members and their families. It hosted the Annual House & Home Expo, providing essential connections for service personnel seeking to buy or improve their homes.

Extending its support to the wider community, the credit union celebrated Mother’s Day by donating newborn care baskets to first-time mothers at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital.

Thirty-five students received scholarships through the credit union’s Annual Treasure Chest Programme, highlighting its firm commitment to youth development. This major initiative underscores the credit union’s active investment in the next generation.

During Credit Union Week, the focus expanded to honour community elders. The JDF CCU made meaningful donations to two senior homes. The week also strengthened bonds within its core membership, as the credit union hosted its inaugural Members Mingle event to foster connection among military members.

Building on last year’s efforts, the JDF Credit Union remains committed to supporting every member’s financial journey and to making a lasting, positive impact throughout the community, continuing to build a strong and supportive family where all members can thrive.
