A student of Kellits High School in Clarendon has been charged for assaulting a policeman.

The student is scheduled to appear in court on December 7 in May Pen.

The Gleaner understands that the police constable visited the school to conduct a class lecture.

During the lecture, he reprimanded an unruly student who it is alleged attacked him.

In a video seen by Gleaner Online, the constable could be seen trying to restrain the student before they toppled over a railing.

Other students could be heard in the background excitedly commenting on the incident.

Following the incident, the policeman received medical treatment and a doctor’s certificate.
