Dream House | Divine mission inspires dream villa in Treasure Beach
Touched by the Holy Spirit and heeding the call of her theological convictions, Lindsay Koss journeyed the world extending a helping hand to those in need. And it came to pass, that in 2014, the Almighty directed her to Jamaica, aborting her vacation trip to Mexico which had just been hit by a hurricane.
In all her travels, nowhere else had the environmental attributes and people of Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth. In the fullness of time, after many subsequent visits, divine intervention guided Lindsay and her husband, Ed, to buy and stylishly rehabilitate this once dilapidated, hillside, beachfront villa in the area, unknown to the general public.
The solar-powered property on one acre, includes the main, Christ-centred house, enveloping five bedrooms, all open to uninterrupted balconies, patios, and a roof deck looking down to the sea. Playing an integral part are five-and-a-half bathrooms, with the principal accented by its private, outside, invigorating rain shower; a freestanding, soothing soaking tub; and twin basins in their marble-top vanity.
Other shared living and dining areas are also fully accessible to the existing, covered outdoor leisure areas on all three floor levels. The gallery-style, custom wood-quartz kitchen is accessorised with stunning gold knobs and pulls! Tropical decor features murals, straw mats on floors, and sea colours popping mostly against white walls. Included is also a detached, full-featured one-bedroom cottage for houseguests.
Here on the outside, where God’s creative handiwork is truly exemplified, is the majesty of the natural, rugged terrain, in collaboration with the artistry of man’s habitat moulded upon it. This house has the very rare luxury of not one, but unbelievably, two separate private swimming pools, framed by timber decks; the infinity-edge one up the hill by the residence, and the other on the beach. Added to this is the thatched roof, relaxation gazebo.
Both Lindsay (formerly in paediatric health care) as a co-founder, and her husband Ed (also engaged in the manufacturing and sales of automotive gaskets and seals), help run a Christian non-profit, global humanitarian mission, with a branch here in Treasure Beach. Hailing from Michigan, United States, the couple with three children, Sophie, Eddie Jr and Josie, met fortuitously at a house party in 2000, and it was instantaneous and simultaneous affection at first sight.
This is a compelling residence that renders spiritual and physical relief to its occupants with love, compassion, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
