Friendship leads to ‘I do’ for Iswall and Keisha

In 2018, Iswall Stephenson was pleasantly surprised to find himself in the company of Keisha Christian. After a brief introduction through mutual friends, Iswall wasted no time making his intentions known. Keisha, however, was firm in keeping things casual until her stance shifted in 2022. What began as a chance at romance soon blossomed into love, culminating in a beautiful wedding ceremony three years later.

“I realised that Keisha was the one when I saw how naturally we complemented each other. Her presence made challenges feel easier, successes feel sweeter, and ordinary moments feel meaningful. It wasn’t a single moment, but a growing certainty that she was someone I wanted to share my life with completely,” Iswall declared to Island Wedding.

In the beginning, Keisha recalled just how easy their first conversation felt, setting the tone for an exciting connection, “There was an instant comfort that surprised me. We started talking more and checking in on each other.”

But she saw him only as a good friend, someone dependable, calm, and genuinely respectful.

Iswall, meanwhile, admired Keisha’s confidence, professionalism, and the way she carried herself. It left a strong first impression, one that only deepened with time.

“As I got to know her better, I came to appreciate her depth, integrity, and the thoughtfulness she brings to every situation. What started as admiration for her outward qualities grew into a genuine respect for her character and the way she inspires those around her,” he explained.

He asked her several times to take their relationship further, but Keisha remained firm that their bond could only be friendship.“I always tried to get into a relationship with her. But when I asked, she always turned me down,” Iswall confessed.

Circumstances, however, took a romantic turn when she decided to finally follow her feelings. “I didn’t fully realise how important he had become in my life. As we talked more and shared more of ourselves, my impression of him deepened,” she said, adding, “So, in 2022, I decided there’s no turning back now. If we didn’t work out, that was it. But look at us now, married.”

Admiring just how smart, loving, thoughtful, kind and patient Iswall can be, Keisha continues to cherish his values and consistency in always showing up, especially when it counts.

“He always encourages me, supports my dreams, and believes in me, even when I doubted myself. He nurtures our relationship through love, patience, and thoughtful gestures, making sure we grow together and stay strong as a team,” she shared.

In Iswall’s eyes, Keisha is not only gorgeous; she is caring, intelligent, strong, supportive, and an inspiration to all who know her.

“She approaches life with kindness and thoughtfulness, balancing strength and resilience with a genuine care for others. She inspires those around her through her dedication and wisdom, and she’s someone I can always rely on and learn from,” he revealed.

Playing a huge role in his personal growth, Keisha challenges her soulmate to be the very best version of himself while showing unwavering support especially during imperfect moments.

“She motivates me to take on new challenges, reflecting honestly when I need guidance, and celebrates my successes without hesitation. She has built a foundation of trust, open communication, and mutual respect. She makes sure we invest time in each other. She listens deeply and brings patience and understanding to every conversation. Her care has strengthened both our connection and my ability to grow alongside her,” he highlighted.

After two years of dating, Iswall knew it was time to ask Keisha to be his wife. He planned a surprise proposal with the help of her best friend, Jenell Williams. Since Keisha could always sense the unexpected, Iswall’s careful planning ensured he popped the question on the morning of November 23, 2024.

In what he describes as a day he won’t ever regret, Keisha went through a series of emotions as she said yes, “I did what I do best: I laughed until I cried. I was the happiest woman alive.”

HAPPIEST WOMAN ALIVE

After the proposal, Keisha’s turn to plan came in designing the wedding of their dreams. She was grateful for the assistance from family members and friends. She grew frustrated on her hunt for the perfect bridal gown. But then her sister sent her the page for Unions Bridal Boutique via TikTok. “I called and booked my fitting the same day,” she added.

On December 28, 2025, the lovebirds joined hands in holy matrimony at Kravin’z Grill and Restaurant in Clarendon. The gorgeous bride was a vision of elegance and radiance dressed in white as she marched up the aisle to meet her dashing groom. “She put so much effort into our wedding and it was amazing. Once she’s happy, I’m happy,” Iswall said.

For Keisha, the icing on the cake for what she described as the best day of her life, came when she and Iswall shared their first dance as husband and wife to Flashlight by Jessie J.
