Kudos to the King Alarm team and UHWI

THE EDITOR, Sir:

On Sunday, September 22, 2018, around 11:50 p.m., I had a situation at home which required me to seek urgent medical attention. I activated my King Alarm Medical button with the hope of getting assistance to get to a medical facility.

In less than 10 minutes of activating the medical alarm, a most courteous and helpful King Alarm team arrived on the scene and assisted my spouse so I could get to the hospital. Having had a most disappointing experience the last time I checked into the emergency area of a private hospital, I decided to seek medical attention at the University Hospital of the West Indies. The King Alarm Team accompanied us to the University Hospital by driving behind our vehicle all the way.

On arrival at University Hospital, I was pleasantly surprised. The security personnel at the entrance to the Emergency area as well a porter who assisted with a wheelchair were most courteous and caring.

While there was a short delay with the registration process, it went smoothly. The doctor who conducted my preliminary examination was courteous and reassuring.

Courteous, Caring Team

After the preliminaries, she accompanied me, along with the porter to the emergency room where I was attended to by Dr Morris and a most courteous and caring team of nurses. The X-ray professional was gentle and courteous. My entire assessment diagnosis, and prognosis were handled in a most caring, timely, and professional manner. The professionalism, understanding, and dedication as demonstrated by these team of professionals (King alarm and UHWI) was indeed exceptional.
