Swirls opens new location in New Kingston

Swirls has opened a new location at the New Kingston Business Centre on Dominica Drive, St Andrew.
On Monday, August 4, a day ahead of its official launch, management and team members from Honey Bun Limited, owners of Swirls, got a first taste of what’s to come, sampling the menu and doing a final quality check before Tuesday’s soft opening.
Honey Bun acquired the Swirls brand from Next Incorporation in 2024, and the opening of this second location is a key step in the company’s strategic plan to scale locally and explore regional expansion.
“This location is the realisation of Honey Bun’s strategy when they acquired the brand in 2024, so [we are feeling] accomplished but excited to add more locations,” General Manager Sydoni Knight told Food.
Swirls has operated from a single outlet in the Transportation Centre, Half-Way Tree, since 2016. The New Kingston branch brings upgraded customer experience - more seating, a broader menu, and a layout tailored to meet the pace and needs of the bustling corporate and commuter crowd.
Designed around a retail theatre concept, the eatery allows customers to view the production process, reinforcing freshness and customisation. Swirls’ menu features both sweet and savoury options built on Honey Bun’s signature bakery items, including its beloved cinnamon rolls.
Guests can enjoy an assortment of ‘swirls’ – cinnamon, cheese, garlic, pizza, and the swirl dog – as well as swirl sandwiches in varieties like chicken ham, jerk chicken, tuna, ham and egg. Toppings include jalapeños, cream cheese, and cheddar, all paired with a selection of hot and cold beverages, including their mango passion, sizzle blend and granola blend smoothies.
The concept merges grab-and-go ease with a cosy, café-style setting and targets busy urban professionals. The New Kingston location opens Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., catering to breakfast, lunch, and those afternoon cravings.
“This location was ideal for its large, bustling corporate and commuter crowd. And also in what is offered, [which] adds some variety to the offerings in New Kingston,” said Knight. “The price point is [also] very, very competitive.”
Sharing her excitement about the new location, she noted the team’s commitment to delivering flavour and quality. “We’re thrilled to bring Swirls to New Kingston and to offer a menu that’s both fun and satisfying,” she shared.
“From our freshly baked swirls and our savoury sandwiches and smoothies, everything is made to delight. We want customers to come in and treat themselves to something truly delicious.”
