Sharilyn Sayles
presents ‘The
Crossover’

With the firm belief that word and worship go hand-in-hand, music minister Sharilyn Sayles is organising her book launch and a gospel concert tonight at the Swallowfield Chapel in St Andrew. Sharilyn and her husband, renowned gospel singer, Carey Sayles, formed Sayles International Ministry years ago as the portal through which they showcase their Christian lifestyle and make a difference in a meaningful way.

As a recording artiste, she is known for albums such as Abba We Believe and His Goodness. Her catalogue includes popular tracks like It Will Get Better, Your Love Amazes Me, and You’re My King.

She also responded when Hurricane Melissa struck last year by producing a concert to raise funds for those affected. Ongoing efforts will see part of the proceeds from tonight’s concert going to the Slipe Leased Infant and Primary School in St Elizabeth.

Sharilyn is now filled with gratitude to be given this newest assignment, which also adds author to her name.

Just as the biblical figure Noah was instructed by God to build an ark, Sharilyn says she, too, was given divine instructions to write this deeply personal, faith-based memoir.

“There’s something very different about this assignment. Some people want write-up for media attention for their event ... but this is beyond that,” Sharilyn told The Gleaner. “The instructions I have received from God are to get the word out about the messages in the book ... so I need to find, use, [and] create whatever strategies or methods that I can use to do that.”

The book is titled The Crossover, and it chronicles 12 different experiences in which the author has experienced the hand of God in a powerful way. It’s about resilience, healing and overcoming trauma and explores how others can have similar experiences that can help them, too, to “cross over”.

“The book has 12 chapters, and this was also an instruction from God. It addresses many critical issues and ends with 12 lessons that we can extract from the crossover that the Children of Israel would also have experienced,” the author explained.

Sharilyn shared that the second instruction she was given was that “the word must go forth”, and she is faithfully carrying out that directive.

Tonight, patrons can expect a night of praise, testimony, and breakthrough featuring Carey Sayles, Sis Pat, Hilkiah Jones, HUMBLE, Osanna Ministries, Geovanni Baker, Restored and Fred Robinson.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by Ian ‘Ity’ Ellis and Mical Forsythe.
