Jan 28: JMD slips to $121.34 against USD

The Jamaica dollar traded at an average rate of $121.34 against the US dollar on Thursday, down three cents.
But the local currency regained ground against the pound sterling, up 28 cents at $171.83, as well as the Canadian dollar, up $2.37 at $85.62.
In the US dollar market, demand was robust at US$65.47 million, but foreign exchange traders were able to cover the supplies having bought up US$69.32 million.
The Jamaican dollar has fallen 93 cents or 0.77 per cent year to date against its main trading partner, the US dollar.
