GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):
Centuries from Jason Mohamed and captain Larry Farnum powered West Indies to an emphatic 181-run victory over Wales as action in the International Masters Cricket Over40s World Cup continued on Sunday.
Mohamed bludgeoned an unbeaten 151 from just 68 balls, including 12 sixes and four fours, while Farnum smashed 119 off 113 deliveries to help the West Indies pile up 372 for two in 45 overs after electing to bat at the Anna Regina National Stadium.
After the early dismissal of Randy Thomas for eight, Hemnarine Chattergoon and Farnum put on 122 for the first wicket before the captain retired hurt on 50 from 73 balls, an innings that included six fours.
Mohamed and Farnum then transformed the contest during a 142-run partnership, scoring at more than nine runs per over.
By the time Farnum was bowled by Lee Dixon after striking 14 fours and two sixes, the Windies were comfortably placed at 272 for two in the 40th over.
Larry Babb then joined Mohamed at the crease, and the pair launched a late assault on the Wales bowling attack. The final five overs yielded 100 runs.
Babb finished unbeaten on 30 from just 13 balls, including three sixes and two fours.
Wales never seriously threatened in reply, losing wickets at regular intervals before being bowled out for 191 in 41.2 overs.

Imran Khan was the pick of the Windies bowlers with three for 51, while Devendra Bishoo claimed two for 40, as all seven bowlers used took at least one wicket.
