Jamaica secured their spoke at the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship after a comprehensive 13-6 win over Puerto Rico at the 2026 Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship on Friday night at Stadium East.
With the win, Jamaica confirmed their third appearance at the World Lacrosse Men's Championship as well as a spot in the bronze medal at the Pan Am Championship.
Coming into the game knowing a win would secure their passage to the World Championship, Jamaica raced to a 3-1 lead by the first quarter and pressed their advantage, ending the half 8-2.
They took the third quarter 3-0 and despite being out scored 2-4 in the final quarter, did enough to see out the win.
Hayden Hiltz topped scored for Jamaica with four points, while Stone Evans, three, and Tanner Sims, two, contributed to the win.
It will be Jamaica’s third appearance at the World Championship after their debut in 2018 and their second appearance in 2023.
Jamaica’s best performance came in 2023 where they finished eighth.
