2-y-o girl dies after being hit by father’s car in Kitson Town

The Guanaboa Vale police in St Catherine are investigating the death of a two-year-old girl in Kitson Town on Tuesday who died after sustaining injuries after being hit by a car driven by her father in their yard.

She has been identified by the police as Cahiera Scarlett, of the Friendship Housing Scheme in the area.

The police report that about 8:30 a.m., the child was at home with her father when a passing motorcycle emitted loud sounds from its muffler, which reportedly startled the child.

The young girl reportedly ran towards her father’s car, which he was driving at the time.

According to the police, the man lost control of the vehicle, which hit the toddler, who then hit a wall and sustained head injuries.

The injured child was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The police are investigating the matter.
