A 63-year-old mechanic from St Catherine was acquitted on Friday of sexually assaulting his stepdaughter.
The man was tried before the St Catherine Circuit Court on charges of grievous sexual assault and indecent assault. He had strongly denied the allegations.
The trial, which began on February 11, saw the defence challenge the credibility of the prosecution's witnesses
After retiring, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty on both counts.
The prosecution presented evidence that, in April 2024, the accused sexually assaulted his stepdaughter, who was under 16 years old.
A report to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse led to his arrest and subsequent charges.
The man was represented by attorneys-at-law Donahue Martin and Carole Phillips.
The case was presided over by Justice Yvonne Brown.
