The name of luxury brokerage Christie’s International Real Estate has appeared a second time on Jamaica’s company register – this time as a business registered in Montego Bay, according to filing made in September.

Companies Office of Jamaica records show Christie’s International Real Estate (Jamaica) 2K6 registered as a business name on September 18 under number 13570/2026, trading from Montego Freeport Shopping Centre in St James. Its stated activity is real estate brokerage. The sole proprietor named is Luxury Realty Limited, a Jamaican company. Business name filings disclose no directors or shareholders.

A separate company of almost the same name has sat on the register since February 2024. Christie’s International Real Estate (Jamaica) Limited, company number 123181, operates from Parkington Place, Kingston 10, and lists Dominique Silvera of Christ Church, Barbados, as its sole director and sole shareholder. Nothing on either file links the two.

Christie’s, in its promotions, named Jamaica among its Caribbean expansion targets in 2022. But checks on its current affiliate on its site does not include Jamaica.

Rival Sotheby’s International Realty has operated here since 2021, through an affiliation with the local firm Reside Realty.

The Financial Gleaner has sent queries to Christie’s International for comment.

Property sales recorded through the Realtors Association of Jamaica’s Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reached about $99.3 billion in 2025, with St Andrew accounting for $41.17 billion and St Ann $27.36 billion. The figures capture MLS transactions only, excluding private sales and direct developer sales. The Real Estate Board’s public register listed 600 dealers – brokerage firms and individuals trading under their own names – and up to 3,660 sales agents. These numbers also include inactive entities.

Christie’s operates in over 50 countries, with over 250 years in the real estate and luxury art market.
