Jamaica to introduce new work permit system

Labour Minister, Pearnel Charles said a new work permit system will be implemented on February 4.
Under the new regime, foreigners already in Jamaica will not be able to apply for jobs.
According to Mr. Charles this will be done in an effort to prevent foreigners from filling positions for which there are qualified Jamaicans.
