United States President-elect Barack Obama is due to announce the National Security team in his new administration later today.
It is widely expected that Mr. Obama will nominate Senator Hillary Clinton for the post of Secretary of State.
Mrs. Clinton lost out to Mr. Obama when the two contested a bitterly fought race for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to a source in Washington, the current Defence Secretary, Robert Gates is likely to remain in his position.
Retired general James Jones is also said to be a likely selection for National Security Adviser.
