Finance Minister Audley Shaw is in Washington in the United States where he will meet with officials of the World Bank. The meeting is a continuation of discussions, which started in October.

In Washington, Mr. Shaw will sign a US$10 million loan agreement to help with Hurricane Dean relief projects. The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) has approved 120 projects for implementation.

The projects include repairs to 80 schools, 30 health centres and a number of roads. Managing Director of JSIF, Scarlett Gillings, accompanies Mr. Shaw who left the island yesterday.
