The Austrian man who allegedly imprisoned and abused his daughter for 24 years has been charged with murdering their seventh child.

73 year old Josef Fritzl, could face 10 years to life in prison.

Fritzl has also been charged with slavery and rape.

If he is found guilty of those charges, he could face 20 years in jail.

Frizl has been in police custody since the case came to light in April.

A trial is expected to begin early next year.

The Austrian man fathered seven children with his daughter Elisabeth in a cellar at his home in Amstetten, west of Vienna.

Austrian prosecutors say the newborn died because Fritzl failed to seek medical help for the infant immediately after birth.
