FOOTBALL: Women's Premier League begins on Saturday
The 2013 Sherwin Williams-sponsored Women’s Premier League is scheduled to begin on Saturday with defending champions Barbican starting against Harbour View.
That game will be played at the Barbican Field.
Barbican and Harbour View will compete in Zone ‘A’ alongside Olympic Gardens, St Thomas and the University of the West Indies.
Zone ‘B’ comprises Waterhouse, Arnett Gardens, G.C. Foster College, Trelawny Women’s and newcomers Frazsier’s Whip.
Former Champions, Portmore United, and Santos will not be participating this season because of financial constraints.
At the completion of the first round the winners of each zone will play-off in the mid-season final.
The competition winner is guaranteed $400,000.
Second place will walk away with $250,000; third place $140,000 and fourth $100,000.
