West Indies, New Zealand face off
The One-Day International series between West Indies and New Zealand bowls off this morning at Sabina Park in Kingston.
The second match also takes place at Sabina Park on Saturday. The last three matches are set for Warner Park in St Kitts.
West Indies captain Darren Sammy is hoping for a good start to series.
On the eve of the match, Sammy challenged his players to focus on consistency following a 2-0 sweep of the Twenty20 series in Florida at the weekend.
Explosive opener Chris Gayle is focussing on giving the team a good start to the series.
Gayle, who scored two half centuries in the Twenty20 series, said the Sabina Park pitch should suits the Caribbean side.
For the One-Day matches, West Indies selectors have called up Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell and fast bowler Tino Best of Barbados to the 13-man squad.
Kane Williamson will lead the Black Caps in place of the injured Ross Taylor.
