The authorities in Belize have confirmed that four people have died and three are missing after the floods brought on by two storms.

Officials said tropical storms Alma and Arthur triggered the worst flooding Belize has seen in 40 years.

National Emergency Management boss George Lovell told BBC Caribbean that southern Belize was hardest hit over the weekend.

Nicaragua\'s navy announced it had found the storm-wrecked boat and body of one of three Costa Rican fishermen missing since Thursday.

It was still searching for the two other missing men.

Earlier, a man was electrocuted by wind-whipped power lines in Nicaragua and a seven year old girl drowned in Honduras.
