Harbour View, Tivoli reigning champions

Tournament leaders Harbour View and reigning champions Tivoli Gardens secured victories yesterday in the two-team race for the Digicel Premier League, which entered the crucial fourth and final round yesterday.



The 12-team league has been divided into two groups following the third round, with the top six teams being placed in the Elite Group and the seventh to 12-placed teams placed in the Relegation Group.



Harbour View defeated Village United 3-0 at Harbour View Stadium to hold on to their slim one-point lead, while Roland Dean scored a 56th minute goal to lead Tivoli Gardens to a 1-0 victory over third place Waterhouse at Edward Seaga Complex.



In the other Elite Group game, St Georges blanked Boys’ Town 2-1 at Lynch Park in Portland.



In the relegation group Seventh place Portmore United and last place August Town battled to a goalless draw at Ferdie Neita Park, ninth place Rivoli United and eighth place Humble Lion played to a 1-1 draw at Prison Oval in Spanish Town, while the match between second-from-the-bottom Sporting Central Academy and 10th place Arnett Gardens at Brancourt in Clarendon was called off because of rain.
