Forces in Iraq have reportedly freed a British journalist.
Richard Butler and his Iraqi interpreter, who were employed to the American network CBS News, were captured in Basra in February10.
The interpreter was freed three days later.
According to witnesses, the two men were taken from the Sultan Palace Hotel in Basra, southern Iraq, by at least eight gunmen.
In February, local news reports said Mr. Butler\'s release was delayed because his kidnappers feared being arrested.
According to International media watchdogs, dozens of journalists have been killed each year, since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.
