Olympian Shaneika Ricketts expecting first child

Olympian Shaneika Ricketts and her husband and coach, Kerrylee Ricketts, are expecting their first child.

The couple shared the news in a social media post on Thursday as they celebrated 10 years of marriage.

“Today we are celebrating 10 years of marital bliss as we anticipate the arrival of Baby Ricketts,” they wrote.

The announcement was accompanied by a photograph of the couple, with Ricketts displaying her baby bump.

The development means Ricketts, an Olympic silver medallist and two-time World Championships silver medallist in the triple jump, is unlikely to defend the Commonwealth Games title she won in Birmingham in 2022.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.
