Mission accomplished!
Tuesday night belonged to one man - Bond. James Bond.
Bond impersonators turned out with Bond girls in droves to the glitzy Heineken premiere of Skyfall.
This mission required a full lock-down of Carib 5. The Heineken event, benefitting The Jamaica Heart Foundation, occupied all five auditoriums at the venue.
There was hardly standing room inside or outside, as the event got under way. Jaguars and Range Rovers like those featured in the movie stood proudly outside, attracting as much attention and 'paparazzi action' as the red carpet.
It was a fashion show on steroids. Suits were sharp, dresses were short, and stilettos reigned supreme. Some outfits were more 'costumy' while others were right on target, giving Daniel Craig a run for his money. But everyone came out to party and, with drinks in hand, that's exactly what they did.
The usual 'keep cellphones off' rule was widely ignored and no one seemed to mind. Women screamed at Craig's shirtless body on screen; they laughed at every punchline, and everyone groaned in pain whenever another four-wheeled beauty bit the dust.
When the smoke cleared and Bond's mission came to an end, the hundreds who turned out for the premiere were definitely left feeling satisfied.
