Time for Cellma
Cellma is an electronic health-care solution developed by Riomed, an international software development company that has provided cutting-edge health-care applications to Europe and The Americas since 1997, and has now partnered in the Caribbean with Fujitsu. It is a true web-based application that, using cloud computing, allows all health-care professionals and managers to access real-time patient information across any specified geographical area. Cellma has been developed specifically for the Caribbean and basically allows the user to manage all aspects of his/her business electronically.
All this was revealed as Fujitsu launched the solution at the Mona Visitor's Lodge on Thursday, December 1. Riomed promised reduced capital of network cost (it's a pay-as-you-go service, so if you're not feeling it, just end your subscription). There is no physical infrastructure that needs to be put in place, and the system enables physicians to share information seamlessly. Users can utilise any of the numerous modules available and the technology is not size-specific to your organisation. Cellma works anywhere, from your local clinic to major hospitals. Patients can also access it themselves, so they can monitor their own status more effectively. And this is regardless of your location. So if you become ill while on holiday abroad, for example, any doctor hooked up with the system can find your data and treat you accordingly.
Mario Mohammed, managing director of Riomed, gave guests practical examples of the quick, efficient flow of the programme. He brought up patient history, ordered tests, sent off samples to labs, and billed the patient at every step of the way in quick time. He joked that the only thing it won't do is make your coffee for you.
Cellma is perfect not only for the increasingly digitised world, but also for the demographic of medical personnel. More 'young people' are in the profession and take more readily to the 'tech' stuff.
