It was an evening to celebrate employees who have given up to 40 years service to the National Commercial Bank (NCB) at its Long Service Awards cocktail reception held at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel on July 26.

The event began with a bang as compères Bernadette Barrow and Oliver Tomlinson came out dressed in outfits from the '50s, dancing to the tune My Boy Lollipop. On the other hand, awardees were dressed to the nines but in more modern business suits and dresses, while the men looked sharp in their suits and ties.

One hundred and ninety-seven employees were awarded but Angela Spencer took the top award, having given 40 years to the bank. Group Managing Director Patrick Hylton in his address said, "At National Commercial Bank we regard our employees as our greatest asset, which is why we invest heavily in training and development."

He said that was also why they take the engagement of employees very seriously. "While the most recent Jamaica Employers Federation survey results have not been released, we continue to aspire to be the Employer of Choice and the company with the most engaged employees."

He further stated that he is looking forward to their continued participation in the growth and development as they pursue NCB's vision of being the premier financial institution delivering superior products and services to satisfy the needs of its customers, while developing employees and building a better Jamaica.

The presentation of awards was presented with intervals of jokes by the compères. Also, there was a video presentation showing photographs of those who gave more than 30 years of service in their younger days. Keisha Patterson thrilled the audience with some jazzy tunes and a good time was had by all.
