WESTERN BUREAU:

In a very intimate setting, behind a gigantic blue, yellow and white cake, president and country head of RBC Royal Bank Jamaica Limited, Minna Israel, and her team introduced the rebranded RBTT Bank to the second city Wednesday night.

Shortly after business closed in the Life of Jamaica Shopping Centre, the new RBC Jamaica opened its doors to the community of customers who had supported the bank in Montego Bay.

With RBTT now a thing of the past, the work done since RBC's 2008 acquisition was unveiled, the historic milestone was celebrated more so in camaraderie style.

"Much work has been done behind the scenes to bring together our two organisations. To that end, we have made significant investments to integrate our businesses across the Caribbean, simplifying the way we do business and enhancing the client experience," declared the bank's vice-president, Antoinette Reid-Walcott.

She announced that the organisation was commencing one of the most significant pieces of its Caribbean integration by formally beginning operations under the RBC banner, with RBC Royal Bank becoming their Jamaican brand, effective Monday.

Building on strength

"Because this is essentially the consummation of a marriage that binds two organisations that have served the region for more than 100 years, we pledge to put our global and regional strengths to work for all our stakeholders," said Reid-Walcott.

The Gleaner brings you highlights of the celebrations signifying the changing landscape of the bank.
