Danny Vargas, SeaFreight's vice-president, sales and marketing, was the recipient of the Jamaican Milestone Award for International Trade from the Jamaica/USA Chamber of Commerce.

The award was presented on Friday, May 20, at the Chamber's annual luncheon and opening ceremony of the Jamaican Business Expo at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Conference Centre.

Presenting the award on behalf of the chamber was its president, Marie Gill, as well as the keynote speaker for the event, Joseph Matalon, chairman, ICD Group and president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica.

The award was in recognition of Vargas' commitment to the Jamaican market, dating back to 1988 when he joined Antilles Freight, a Consolidator specialising in the Caribbean and Jamaica in particular, followed by his time with Kirk Line, the carrier that served the Jamaican market for many decades and now his continued involvement in the trade at SeaFreight.

SeaFreight Line was recognised for its commitment to excellence in international trade between Jamaica and the United States, while it's "roots remain focused on Jamaica", as quoted in the Chamber's Magazine.
