I can see my body changing!
Tuesday: I opened the newspaper, and bam! There I was! I was so motivated by the promos. The challenge felt so much more real all of a sudden. Jodi, my spinning instructor, quoted Yoda in class, saying there is no such thing as 'try' - you either do or you don't. Well, I'm gonna DO!
Wednesday: was an intense workout day. Spinning class was a true mind-body challenge. I feel fitter and stronger. I'm lifting heavier weights. I also realised today that during my workouts, I don't mind looking in the mirror as much as I did in the beginning. I can see my body changing, which is very motivating.
Thursday: The cold virus which I have been fighting got the better of me. I didn't want to miss any workouts at all, as few things make me feel as good as I do after a workout. I, however, had to agree with the good judgement of my husband who suggested that I miss one workout to rest and hopefully prevent myself from missing the next three. I compensated by dropping a serving of starch.
Friday: I added a half-hour on the treadmill to help make up for yesterday.
Saturday: I don't normally get to work out on the weekends, but Ian and I made the extra effort to participate in the charity spin for the Heart Foundation of Jamaica, and I was so glad we did!
Monday: Again I had to miss my workout because of this darn cold. I sadly just didn't have the strength to work out. I checked in with Nadine, my personal trainer, who suggested I listen to my body.
I am tackling the night-time snacking by planning for it in my daily calorie intake and allocating a serving of fruit to that time. I may not get it right in a day, but I'm focusing on getting it right in a week.
