Celebrating Prof Rex's memory

Jamaica Awareness Inc, in association with the Jamaica Diaspora Southern United States of America and the University of the West Indies Alumni Association, will present Caribbean Dance Celebration 2011 at the Coral Springs Center For The Arts in Florida on Sunday, February 13.

This is in recognition of the life of the Honourable Ralston 'Rex' Nettleford, OM, and his outstanding contribution to Caribbean cultural development. The event will be under the patronage of the consul general of Jamaica, the Honourable Sandra Grant-Griffiths. The two-part show will first feature tributes to Professor Nettleford by members of the South Florida community followed by a full performance from Jamaica's National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC).

Advance ticket prices are VIP orchestra seats US$75, orchestra US$50, mezzanine US$40 and balcony US$30. There will be a pre-show VIP reception for members of the NDTC, VIP ticket holders and specially invited guests. Net proceeds from the presentation will be donated to The Rex Nettleford Foundation.
