Castle Drive in Stony Hill came alive on Saturday January 8, as Pat and Tarn Peralto celebrated their silver wedding anniversary with their family, political colleagues and friends. The actual wedding date was January 4 and the Peraltos attended church and renewed their wedding vows then.

As the event got under way, mist enveloped the venue and the normally cool temperatures dipped even lower, forcing the female guests to reach for their shawls. But there was sufficient 'spirit' to keep the bodies warm and music to keep everyone in motion.

Formalities were brief as the couple's eldest daughter Tian, who described herself and siblings as "three amazing children", welcomed guests and invited Monsignor Michael Lewis to bless the food and cake.

In his very brief remarks, anniversary celebrant Tarn thanked his guests for coming out to share the rather special occasion with his wife and himself. He thanked his wife and family for 25 wonderful years and admitted to being "grumpy and hard to please at times", but happy that his children saw him as an excellent role model. That said, he invited everyone to eat, drink and enjoy themselves. And they did.

The beautiful anniversary cake was created by Nyla Diandra food catered Eddie Chin and Lorraine Fung.

Guests out included Prime Minister Bruce Golding; Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Ken Baugh; Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne; Information Minister Daryl Vaz; Transport and Works Minister Mike Henry and wife Dawn; Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Dr Christopher Tufton and wife Neadene; Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett; minister without portfolio responsible for local government, Bobby Montague; Andrew Gallimore and his wife, Nicole; Everald Warmington; Member of Parliament Derrick Smith and wife Karlene; Councillor Richard Creary and wife Andrea; councilors Danvers Levers, Hugh Bryan, and caretaker Najeev Haber.

Also spotted were: Lorna Peralto, widow of the late Ryan Peralto Sr; the couple's children, Tian, Mikhail and Chloe Peralto; Ryan Jr and Ingrid Peralto; Dane Peralto, Shaun Peralto and his wife Donna, and their daughters Nia and Gabrielle, Donna and Johnny Chuck, Cynthia March, Ronald Peralto and Neville Peralto and his wife; Lloyd and Elaine Forbes; Michael and Ollie Goodger in from Florida; Odette Epstein and husband Robert; Stephen and Shelly Chang; Jean Jones, family physicians Drs Guyan and Susan, Arscott; and several more.
