A picture perfect wedding

Family and friends of Errol Douglas 'Teddy' Price, pharmacist/actor and Dr Trudy-Ann Alisa Batchelor will remember Saturday, November 27 as a picture-perfect day filled with love songs and special moments. On that day, and in one of the most beautiful places in Jamaica, Goblin Hill Villas overlooking the sea in San San, Portland, Price and Batchelor were united in marriage. The Errol Flynn Marina was the location for the reception.
Guests patiently awaited the arrival of the bride beneath a white tent trimmed with masses of crimson daisies and chrysanthemums and baby's breath suspended from the ceiling. The groom maintained his composure with the help of long-time friends - best man Basil Dawkins; and groomsmen Glen Morrison and Michael Nicholson. As the balmy breezes wafted off the sea, the sun's rays forced the guests to reach for their fans but Warren Harris on saxophone and Andres Lopez on keyboard, set the right note for relaxation.
The bridal party of Patrice Batchelor and Mellissa Green arrived in knee-length claret V-neckline wrap dresses with embroidered trim at the neck while maid of honour Nadine Burke-Dunkley's dress featured shades of lilac, plum and claret. They carried bouquets of white rosebuds. The groom was a picture of sartorial elegance in black tuxedo with cream shirt, vest and accents while the groomsmen chose claret accents with their black tuxedoes.
The groom made way for his beautiful bride by scattering rose petals along her path. She arrived on the arm of her dad, Donald Batchelor, in an off-white strapless David's bridal gown featuring shirred, beaded bodice and a cathedral train; she carried a bouquet of crimson rosebuds and her makeup and hair were done by Carol Reid. Officiating minister Reverend M. Shim Hue in his brief words of encouragement to the couple, reminded the groom he was his wife's servant, and "You are to die before self to make sure your wife is happy."
He said love does not keep record of wrongs but instead wrong was inherently forgiven in love. "Love is not afraid of the truth, love is not happy with evil and love is not afraid to be vulnerable because love is comfortable with itself," Reverend Shim Hue said.
Charley Robbers provided unforgettable renditions of Forever I Do, So Amazing and Stay a While With Me. Gloria Dawkins and her team from Gifts and Events did a fabulous job at both venues with the red-and-white/off-white theme. The passageway to the reception area on the marina was set up with cocktail bar, guest book, a giant-sized poster of the couple for signatures and poster-sized photographs suspended from the ceiling, showing the couple at various stages of development from childhood to the present.
Patsy Lynn Caterers provided a scrumptious wedding feast. Master of ceremonies John Malcolm handled the formalities superbly. The Prices honeymooned at Sandals Whitehouse.
