It's fiesta time

It was an entertainment fiesta on Saturday, December 4 as the Kiwanis Club of Kingston hosted its Grand Christmas Charity Ball at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
Fab 5, celebrating 40 years in the music industry, and Judi Emanuel were the toast of the evening as they produced hit after hit to keep the dancing feet moving. They got things off with some Christmas renditions before dipping into their rocksteady bag.
MC Christopher Robinson was perfect for the occasion, as his witty remarks kept guests laughing throughout.
Emanuel had something for all musical tastes as well. Whether it was rocksteady (Tell Me Now), R&B (Saving All My Love For You), or ska (My Boy Lollipop), she made some new friends and fans. For her encore, she did a delightful medley from The Supremes.
But aside from the festivities, club President Michael Tucker took time out to encourage those who were not yet involved in volunteerism to do so in the coming year. He warned that failure to act would lead to Jamaicans to continue to live like prisoners in their own homes. He reiterated that marginalised communities depend on citizens like them to help.
After Emanuel's excellent stint, Fab 5 then returned to keep guests dancing into the a.m. hours.
Guests out included Victor McFarlane, Winsome and Carlton Levy, William Reeson, Patrick Anderson, David Hall, Dr Claude and Lisa Packer, Hugh Morris, Clovis and Hermine Metcalfe and Russell Thompson.
