Lee Bailey celebrates national honour

WESTERN BUREAU: On National Heroes Day, Monday, October 18, Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen, conferred the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer on well-known Montego Bay businessman, Lee Bailey.
Following the event, Bailey held a private party for family, friends and some members of corporate Montego Bay. Members of the medical and legal fraternities were also in attendance. The Gleaner captured some of the highlights.
"My wife and I are humbled by it and hope that it will serve as an inspiration to others. This motivates one to work much harder," the recipient said.
Bailey has been involved in the tourism sector for nearly 40 years. He is the CEO of Caribbean Cruise Shipping and Tours - located at Claude Clarke Avenue - which he started 32 years ago.
Prior to this, he worked as general sales manager at the now-defunct Martin's Jamaica, which was the most complete destination-service company in the Caribbean at that time.
Bailey's wife, Judith, a British-Canadian citizen, is a former senior travel agent who had worked in Toronto, Canada, for decades. She is a director at Caribbean Cruise Shipping and Tours.
