WESTERN BUREAU: The strength and versatility of the Grand Palladium Resort, Hanover was tested last weekend with the hosting of two major events - Chaîne des Rtisseurs and the Miss Global International 2010 pageant.
Of course, the resort came out smelling like roses!
The new general manager, Dimitris Kosvogiannis, the Greece-born naturalised Jamaican, has transformed the look, feel and culinary offerings at the 1,057-room Hanover resort to everyone's satisfaction.
Kosvogiannis' latest coup was to host the local masters of the Chaîne des Rtisseurs, an international gastronomic society founded in 1950 in Paris to revive the traditions of the royal guild of goose roasters chartered in 1248. The Chaîne is dedicated to bringing together those who share a mutual interest in cuisine, wine, and fine dining, in a spirit of camaraderie.
exceptional skills
Designed for professional members, such as chefs, restaurateurs and hoteliers, the Chaîne offers opportunities to demonstrate their exceptional skills and creativity to a discerning, appreciative audience.
Last Friday night, Grand Palladium's new executive chef, Guillermo Martinez, got the opportunity to showcase his expertise to officers Derek Elder, Pierre Battaglia, Christopher Reckord and Anthony Ferrari.
Others in attendance included Senator Noel Sloley and wife Sharron; Jaime and Camille Delgado; Kyle Mais; Vincent and Helen Chen, Kemel and Beatrice Gajraj, Kerri-Anne Reckord; Judith Afflalo; Trevor and Shirley Golding; Celia Hoehener; the affable Colin Hylton; John, Merlyn and Frances Ross; Kolleen Russell; Harry Abrikian; Sandals Resorts International's Brian Sang and Couples Resorts Ricardo Bowleg.
Outlook brings you highlights of the fabulous evening, spent in great company.
