It's plug, pay & go, Mobay!

WESTERN BUREAU:
It was difficult to decipher whether the year was 2010 or 2030, as waitresses with ZTE netbooks took drink orders, while guests stepped into a time channel called 4G broadband wireless 'Plug, Pay, Go'.
This was the scene created by the tech-savvy minds at Digicel, and they could not have used a better person to execute the finishing touches than Jacqui Tyson and Dennis Howard of Thought to Finish, as 4G was unveiled to the Montego Bay community at the Rose Hall Great House on Friday, August 27.
Edgy, sharp, clean, uncluttered, was how Tyson described the setting that provided a backdrop as she spoke with The Gleaner's Outlook team.
In fact, the visuals that surrounded the historic great house came alive as a surprise element. And the club effect that they managed to create didn't hit you until you stepped inside the tunnel.
Modern lifestyle
The look was affordable, easy and fast, depicting the tagline ... 'Plug, Pay, Go'.
Tyson and her team planned the menu to match the modern lifestyle created by the communications giants, and the well-stocked bar had Grey Goose, Hennessey, Patron, Rum Bar, Finlandia. At the food court, guests savoured bite-size, low-calorie lamb chops, lobster tail, grilled chicken, steak and pork and tiramisu 4G shots.
Using red, yellow and green lights to form a kaleidoscope of colour the 4G designers complemented the Rose Hall venue with one main dance floor, four lounges, including one for cigar smokers and, of course, an area for the latest technology.
As if this was not enough for the party people in Montego Bay, at 10:40 p.m., Digicel showed its prowess in the marketplace with a DJ streaming live from the city of London, United Kingdom.
