A Perfect Day
It was a perfect day as songbird Audrey Burchell, a teacher and member of the melodious female group, Karis, from the Northern Caribbean University, sang her way into the heart of Charmers Anton Malcolm II, a senior consultant with Ryan Inc in Atlanta, Georgia.
The two souls became one on Sunday, July 4, in what one could call Eden reincarnated, on the lush, green lawns of the Mona Visitors' Lodge at the University of the West Indies. Conceptualised and appropriately themed as 'Our Garden Affair' by the bride, the ceremony was brought to life under the guidance of the Lodge's Shernett Barrett and stylist Paulette 'Dolly' Bird.
My love sang to me
The groom was dapper in a beige, pin-striped Calvin Klein suit accentuated by an exotic guava tie and complemented with footwear from Aldo Classic. His groomsmen and best man were similarly styled while the three bridesmaids and matron of honour were perfectly gowned in guava, strapless, chiffon A-line dresses with draped skirt and gold pumps. On the arms of her father, Michael, the bride appeared in a stunning David's Bridal tulle-over-satin ball gown with metallic embroidery, and walked gracefully up the aisle, to the sultry voice of Kadian Northover, to meet her groom.
Putting music to her vows, the bride departed from tradition to surprise her beau, who responded in delight: "I got what I wanted; my love sang to me."
