Tastebuds in the Corporate Area have been treated to a tour of Asia with the opening of Springroll Asian Fusion.

The restaurant opened at 73 Knutsford Boulevard in March and, according to owner Frank Luo and restaurant manager, Maple Goodwin, customers are loving it.

The restaurant serves Thai, Japanese and Chinese cuisine. According to Luo, "Jamaica never had this before - something different." So whatever Asian cuisine you desire, you can have it all in one location. Thai cuisine is relatively new to Jamaica but Luo explains that it's sweet and spicy so he thinks Jamaicans will like it.

With a contemporary setting in a subtle brown and green colour scheme, the restaurant can accommodate 30 persons downstairs, and 60 upstairs in plush booth-like seating, including a VIP lounge that can accommodate 20 persons and is available for parties.

Goodwin notes that customers are treated like family and when they are leaving, they are escorted to the door, making the service as good as the food.

Open from 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m, they offer take-out and have a special lunch menu and, of course, a sushi bar. All meals are made to order and with a colourful pictorial menu, you get a visual of what you're ordering if you want to try something new like squid or octopus. You will be tempted.

At Springroll, you get authentic Asian cuisine prepared by local and Chinese chefs specially trained in Tai, Japanese and Chinese cuisine. So give your tastebuds a treat and go on an Asian exploration. Just go easy with the wasabi.
